Boil Home Remedies

INSTRUCTIONS: Ok so, I found this site SO VERY helpful! Thanks to all of the info provided I just got rid of the WORST boil of my life! Here is what I did: I had to sleep with a sleeping pad for the pain and found out that also played a role in curing the boil. I took a wet rag and put it in the microwave for 15 seconds and held it on the boil til it cooled (rinse and repeat-i did this 3 times) this also helped with the pain. After that, I put campho phenique on a bandaid and left it on over night. In the morning, I changed the bandaid (and wash the boil with dial antubacterial soap) and that evening (less than 24 hours later, the boil opened and I was able to get the puss out. the core was very large (I have a hole in my arm right now from where the core was) I was able to get out enuff of the core to grab it with tweezers and pull it out all of the way. I cleaned out the hole, packed with gauze and now I'm ready to heal! Thanks again for all of ur help!

magnesium zinc supplements
dead sea minerals -lotion
INSTRUCTIONS: Hi, Since June of 07 I was getting horrible boils every
few weeks, about 20 in total and extremely painful. After several
rounds of antibiotics I did research on my own, discovered tumeric,
magnesium & zinc are 100% effective when used within the first twelve hours of
a suspected boil. I immediately apply a zinc, magnesium ointment -
found "La Cure dead sea foot cream" works best since it contains these
minerals (and more)plus it's a natural antibacterial and antifungal
lotion. Next I take oral magnesium with zinc supplements at least 200mg per
day, then drink a tumeric tea to help fight infamation until completely
healed. Basically, both tumeric & magnesium/zinc supplements stop the
bacteria chain from developing. since doing this I have had 5-6 boils
that attempted to develop never advanced. Treatment takes usually 2-4
days to clear.

INGREDIENTS: site is a super site for learning about boils and the cures. Thespeak of Tumeric a lot. I tried the application and digesting it and they were totally gone within four days. INSTRUCTIONS: I tried so many of these remedies listed here and nothingworked for me. I all the sudden started getting boils for a period of a few months. I kept asking my doctor to test me for MRSA, but shekept telling me there was no way I had MRSA. Finally, when I had the 4thboil in my armpit, I went to the hospital to get it lanced. They cultured it and sure enough I had MRSA. They put me on a round ofantibiotics that are effective for MRSA and...NO MORE BOILS! So the next boil you get, be sure to get it tested for MRSA to make sure that isn't the case.

INGREDIENTS: Ichthammol Ointment
bandage to fit completely over boil
clothes pin or nose clips
INSTRUCTIONS: I have been getting boils ever since I was 2 years old.I didn't like the ways my mom and grandfather would get then to come to
a head. I would cry for days with them. I still get them to this day,but I have gone from getting 1 or 2 boils to getting 9 at time until
this last time. I have a total of 16 as I type this. The pain is unbearable. But take the nose clips and put them on your nose, because thisstuff is very stinky. Then take the onitment and put a liberal amount onthe center of bandage, place it on the boil. Reapply for each one. It will be gone over night. For multiple boils you need to get some kind of antibiotic from you doctor. Then take the flowers and put it in a vase so that you can see it to make you feel better. Drink plenty of fluids too. I hope that this well help everyone that gets them, even if the flowers are just to hide the smell of the stuff.

INGREDIENTS: Bacon/Bacon Fat
INSTRUCTIONS: Simply cut off a piece of bacon/bacon fat large enough tocover the boils, secure it with a bandage/gauze...whatever. If applied at night before bed, boils will usually be gone when you get up the next day. This even works on large painful boils that have been growing for more than just a few days.

INGREDIENTS: All that is need is a tub of toothpaste.
INSTRUCTIONS: All that is need is a tub of toothpaste. NOT any sort of Gel toothpaste. I found that pepsid works the best but can be hard to find. Just rub a thin layer on the affected area and let dry and remain overnight. This will draw the boil to a head and then you can pop it out how ever you choose. Also relives the pain.I also have been known to use a warm compress in the mornings after the toothpaste has set overnight. This softens the skin.

05-Aug-06 at 12:56 PM:
NAME: M. Athearn
INSTRUCTIONS: When you notice that you have a boil coming up apply an ice cube to the area till it melts. Do this four to five times a day till the boil is gone. Boils and the bacteria that cause them have to have heat to thrive and grow. Take away their heat and they die. It will feel like something's crawling in the boil, kinda weird but it works. I had MASSIVE boils all over my body for betterthan six months. I went to the doctor and the emergency room but they kept coming back. Antibiotics(3 different kinds), hot compresses, neosporin, poutices, pastes; none of them worked. I read about the ice cube in a very old remedy book and as a last ditch effort decided to try it.Within two days the boils shrank and were gone. Now every time I start to get a skin eruption, no matter what it is I apply some ice and it's gone.

INGREDIENTS: Black salve also called Icthamol Ointment
You can buy this at some drug stores, I know that CVS and possiby Fruth's Pharmacy carries it.
INSTRUCTIONS: Apply the Icthamol ointment on the boil (I would cover it with a bandage or something becauseit is really nasty smelling stuff and can stain.) Leave on and reapply as needed. The boil will "rupture" and not come back. When I was a teenager I had a really painful boil on the back of my leg. It hurt to wear jeans! My Mom tried EVERYTHING, she tried buttermilk polticies, shetried tobacco polticies, nothing would work. Then my uncle gave her some black salve. Sheapplied it and the next morning, the boil had busted! I have used icthamol ointment as I've gotten older for boils, ingrown hairs, etc.

Finally put some Vicks on a good size band Aid and stick it on and go to bed.Check it in the morning - if some or all comes out good
Repeat the process until gone (take 2 - 3 days)But you will not get an infection - you kill lots of micro organizms with the Colidial Silver
The Vapor from the Vicks brings the boil to head most times busting it for you.

INGREDIENTS: campho-phenique and black salve
INSTRUCTIONS: I would like to thank the person who recommended the campho-phenique, it is actually killing the staph germ that's causing the boil. I also recommend black salve and and a band-aid. Black salve draws everything to a head, makes it burst and aids in healing. There are a lot of different black salves out there but, the active ingredient in the kind I use is carbolic acid. Works beatifully. Hope I helped someone.

INGREDIENTS: Distilled Vingegar
Brown paper sack
Medical tape (not the paper stuff)
INSTRUCTIONS: This sounds crazy, but it works like you wouldn't believe to make these nasty boils burst. My best friend is a nurse and they have used this method at hospitals in her area.As I am sure you all can relate to, the boils get huge, painful, and do not come to head. Squeezing doesn't work at that point. First you cut or tear your paper bag into a sectionthat will cover the boil completely. Make sure it is thick (several layers). 2nd: You soak the piece(s) of paper sack in the vinegar until it is saturated. 3rd: Last you tape this over the area. This is tricky since the paper is wet, but it can be done with enough tape. Wear this over night, and when you remove this in
the morning it should have burst or come to a head.If it is really deep it may take a few times. This has worked for me MANY times. My boils are so bad they wanted to surgically remove the areas they keep reappearing in until I figured outhow to make them burst without going to the doctor for antibiotics. MAKE SURE when it does burst though to keep it VERY clean.

For very severe staff infections or boils, this may need to be repeated two or three time, but I guaranteeresults. It is a horrid site when this puppy bursts (when you get it all, it will come out looking almost like a spagetti) but wowie, what a relief! Parsley is one of mother natures strongest drawing agents.Be paticent, it truly will get it all.

I was lucky enough to have a friend who had suffered from repeated boils. She told me this little trick which has always given me immediate relief from boils or painful acne flair ups.
Ingredients: Epsom Salts, Washcloth, HOT Water
Instructions: Get a container of water as HOT as you can possibly stand it against your skin. Dip your washcloth into the hot water, then quickly dip it into Epsom Salts and place over the boil and hold it there. Repeat as necessary until the boil comes to head and or pops on it's own.

Ingredients: "draw out salve"
wash cloth
baking soda
cotton ball

Instructions: I developed a huge boil on my side - never had a boil before. I had a fever - lots of pain. I decided to treat it myself because getting it "lanced" would mean days of no bra wearing, i.e., not being able to work. I asked the pharmacist (it's not on the shelf) for a tube of old fashioned "drawing salve". It's dark brown and it stinks. I put a large mount of salve on a gauze pad and taped it in placed for 12 hours, changed it, taped it in place for another 12 hours. At this point, the boil had come to a head and drained onto the pad, but it was still large and very tender and hard. I wet a wash cloth and microwaved it for 45 seconds and put this very hot soak on the area (after removing the salve pad) off and on for about 4 hours. Next, I made a paste of baking soda and water and soaked a cotton ball in it, taped it over the ruptured head of the boil and left it for about two hours. I then pulled the skin apart over the boil (do not squeeze) and the "core" of the boil came out. It was disgusting, but it worked. I soaked it periodically with the hot soaks for the next couple of days until the swelling was completely gone, but the pain was gone immediately. Most miserable experience in many years - maybe ever.

Ingredients: Can of starch, vinegar, flour, very warm compress.
Instructions: I have found this to work real well. I was in pain from the darn thing and was willing to try anything to get rid of it! I took a can of starch you use on clothes and prayed it into a bowl. It was foamy, but watery so I added flour to make it thick enough to become a paste. Then I added 1 tsp of vinegar and a little more flour. The boils had not come to head at that time. It was just a tender and inflamed mass. All around the area was painful, but there were two areas that were more painful than the rest. I figured the two more painful areas was trying to come to head. I put the paste on the two areas and wrapped it to prevent the paste from spreading and creating a mess. I then took a wash rag, dampened it in water, and put it in the microwave for less than a min *or until it becomes hot*. I put the towel in a plastic bag and put the hot compress on the boil with a bit of pressure and kept it there until it cooled. When it cooled, i'll just repeat the process !all over again. NOTE: Heating pads are ok, it's just that it doesn't get hot enough. They get warm enough where it's comfortable. This is why I prefer the hot-towel from the microwave method. :) It gets a bit hotter than a heating pad and will have head of the boil rear A LOT quicker. You don't want ittoo hot where it'll burn your skin, but you want it hot enough that you would need to bear it. If you do it this way 2 or 3 times a day, I will promise you it'll come to head in less than 2 days.

Ingredients: one sewing thread
Instructions: Of all the boil treatments and remedies I have read, all say don't lance the boil yourself, and don't squeeze. When young, I had frequent boils so I have a lot of experience with them. In my experience, if you want to suffer pain for days while you wait for the boil to drain itself, go ahead and be my guest. However, if you want to get rid of it in a hurry, use heat to make it come to a head, then lance hell out of it. But if you do this before the boil has formed a core, it will just come back anyway. After prying open the cap with a sterilized needle, get as far under the boil as you can with your fingers on the skin and squeeze until the yellow pus starts to flow. This can be quite fun for some people. After squeezing out all of the liquid contents until some blood appears, you will probably find that the core just won't pop out. It's too fibrous to fit out through the hole with only the pressure of your fingers pushing it, and besides, it stings like!hell. A better way is to take a short piece of sewing thread and twirl it above the core, with the other end just touching the core. Amazingly, this will wind up some of the fibers of the core into the thread, and you can use the thread to pull out the core (it'll still sting, but not as much as trying to squeeze it out, which won't work anyway). This really works, for I have used it on myself many times. Fortunately, boils were only an experience of childhood and I haven't had one for many, many years, but I still think about the rush of pus and then jerking those cores out of my skin.

Ingredients: Washcloth, water, isopropyl alcohol, cotton balls, and a
Instructions: Take a washcloth, soak it, and then wring it out. Throw it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Put it on your boil.(If it is too hot, wait until it cools to the point that it is as hot as you can take it) When it loses it's warmth, putit back in the microwave for another 20-25 seconds. Repeat the process 3-4 times. Immediately after the last time you dothis, you need to *PULL* the skin apart around the boil. DO NOT
SQUEEZE IT!!! Squeezing will cause the bacteria to moveto a different area inside your skin, and you will have the same problem in a different area. You must use some pretty hard pressure when pulling the skin apart. By now, you should have quite a bit of pus on the surface. Continue pullinguntil you see blood coming out. Then wipe all of this stuff away with a cotton ball, and immediately throw it in the trash.Take a clean cotton ball, and soak it in alcohol. Wipe the area down with it, and then put the Band-Aid over it for atleast 8 hours. ***SPECIAL NOTES***: If the area is still tender, remove the Band-Aid in the shower, with the waterrunning over it. Also, I am one of those that will reuse a towel for 2-3 days. DON'T DO IT DURING THIS TIME!!! This willre-introduce the bacteria to the area every time you use that
towel...use a clean one every time until it has cleared up completely. I am a fanatic of anti-bacterial body soap. Personally, I prefer Dial. I have found that I got many more boils when I changed from an anti-bacterial soap to another. Instructions: cut a thick slice of a juicy tomato and place it on the area where the boil is and use a tape of some sort to hold the tomato in place and leave it on for about a day and believe me when i say the boil will come to a head and burst. you want a painfull boil to do just that . i know that it might sound silly but i was in lots of pain with a huge boilon my inner thigh and it was told to me and you know what in less than 24 hours it popped. what makes it work is the acids in the tomato. my boil was BAD, thank heavens for that tomato lol....try it and see!

For boils, soak a tea bag in very hot water.  When it's just barely cool enough to tolerate, place the tea bag on the boil and leave it there until it cools.  Repeat this a few times a day until the boil comes to a head and then wash the boil very well with antibacterial soap, open the boil with a sterile needle and drain it.  The tanic acid in the tea bag will help the boil to come to a head.

Instructions: If the boil has not popped yet, take a clean needle and pop it.Then take a piece of bread, white or wheat.Dip the piece of bread into a bowl of milk.So the bread is a little soaked with the milk.Take the bread with milk on it and place it over the boil for about 15-20 min.The yeast in the bread will draw out the stuff inside the boil. And the boil will not return again.
