Name: KathyCountry_of_Remedy: U.S.
Ingredients: distilled white vinegar and Vick\'s VapoRub

Instructions: I had a bad fungus on my big toenail. This is what worked for me: First, wash the toes and feet with hot soapy water. Dry well. Soak toes for at least 30 minutes in distilled white vinegar (you can buy a gallon of it at Wal-Mart for $1.50). Let the area dry naturally. Before bed, I load up the Vick\'s (again, Wal-mart brand works just as well) all over the nail and at the base of the nail where new growth comes from, using a Q-tip. Cover it lightly with a bandaid so the gunk doesn\'t get all over the sheets. In the morning, take off the bandaid and shower. It\'s been 2 months, and the fungus growth has stopped. The new nail growth is clear and pink!!!

INGREDIENTS: Vinegar
INSTRUCTIONS: I found this remedy on the internet under tips forvinegar. It said the troublewould be gone in a week, and it was! I havehad big toe fungus problems before, using the prescription stuff to painton (expensive) and didn't work. This time I had half the nail black, horrible. So I used a bottle of vinegar mixed with equal water, putthis into a spare baking dish so I could soak both feet. Did this forhalf hour daily. When the diseased part started to soften I used a nailfile (kept for the purpose) on the top of the nail to help break it down and so the vinegar could work. After a few days the bad part wasdisintegrating and I could scrap e it away. In a week it was all gone, I couldn't believe it!! The skin where the nail was is quite tough sodon't worry. This was 4 months ago and the nail is growing normally and healthy. I used the same solution all the time and stored it in bottles. Very economical. Also I have read that fungus cannot survive in an acid medium. Do try this, I don't think anything else could workso fast.

INGREDIENTS: Vicks VapoRub
INSTRUCTIONS: I read about this remedy on your site. I had an expanding toenail fungus on one big toe. I was reluctant to try the uncertain well-known prescription solution. I have applied Vicks to the nail one time per day about 5 days per week for the past 6 months. I estimate that I'm about 3 months away from having a totally new nail, TOTALLY free of the fungus. IT WORKS!

Ingredients: Vitamin E oil
Instructions: Apply it at least 3 times a week to infected nail beds and surrounding skin (up to 1/2 inch from nail cuticle. As the nail
grows out, the fungus grows off and the new nail grows in normal and fungus-free. The treatment takes as long as it takes for the nail bed to completely grow out.As a home health professional for almost 20 yrs., I've treated quite a few patients (including myself) with this remedy and it always amazes podiatrists to see their patients' normal nail beds growing in behind the fungus-infected nail.

Toe Nail Fungus
Soak your foot in a bowl of plain original mouth wash (the brown colored kind) for 10 minutes everyday. Rinse foot off after soaking. This procedure definitely works although it make take 1-3 months to see drastic improvement.

Ingredients: Vicks Vaporub
Instructions: I read about this remedy in our local newspaper in a column written by a doctor. This doctor said that he normally does not
recommend home remedies, but he knew from his own experience that this one worked. Since I have had the problem for a couple of years, I decided to give it a try. This is not an overnight miracle treatment. It takes a long time and you must be diligent, but it does work. I had fungus on my big toe for several years and nothing helped, but when I read about rubbing Vicks Vaporub on it and keeping it trimmed as short as I could get it, I decided to try. It has been a long process, but my nail is almost free of any fungus. There is still one small spot at the base of the nail bed that is being really stuburn, but I will perservere. It works.

Hi Susan,
The best home remedy I ever found was sent through an email. One time I had a fingernail fungus from putting my index finger in potting soil to test for moisture. I went to the doctor and was put on three months of expensive medicine. You know the one, their commercials are gross. It did work but I have since had a toenail infection (probably from working in the garden in sandals) and I used Vicks vaporub. This nail was over half black and within a few days of rubbing Vicks on it a couple of times a day, it started to clear up. The nail grew out just fine, I just kept cutting the black part off and now my nail if normal. I also know other people this has worked for. Some use bleach but I tried that and didn’t get any response. I think I even used a generic type of Vicks. If anyone has a nail fungus, give this a try, it worked for me!

PS A friend found your site and I am really glad she did!

Ingredients: Apple Cider Vinegar
Instructions: I had a finger nail that was infected with a fungus. It was yellow, soft and cheesy.I soaked the finger in apple cider vinegar for about 30 seconds 3 times a day for a week.Over about a months time the yellowness left first, then the nail began
to turn white again. As the nail grew out I clipped it as usual. Finally it was as normal as my other nails. All it takes is a litte patience.
