Instructions: Slice some ginger into bite-sized chunks and dip the edge of each chunk into the salt while you suck on the chunk. One chunk would be enough at a time. Suck slowly, and chew and swallow the chunk as you progress on sucking it.

Ingredients: Go to GNC and get yourself some oil of oregano
Instructions: At the very first sign of discomfort, put 3-5 drops under
the tongue, hold there for 30 seconds then swallow. It is nasty
tasting but this stuff works. If you feel it coming back on, do another
round. I just go ahead and take it morning and nighttime for a few days to
be sure it has killed the bug! Hurray, this works pretty fast! And my
kids will even take it cause they know it works. My son, 11, will come
and let me know he is going for the oregano! That\'s because he knows it

How to deal with nausea/vomiting related to intestinal obstructions.

During the early part of this decade I went through 2 1/2 years of horrific nausea/vomiting which resulted in more than15 occasions that would began with terrible pain, overwhelming nausea and nonstop vomiting. It would continue with a trip to the emergency room and always included a tube being forced in my nose and down into my stomach. It would culminate with week-long hospitalizations. I was sick nearly every day during those years and was hospitalized almost one week out of every month. I had to quit my job and have my mother move in to help with my children. Ultimately, the condition of obstruction from scar tissue required 3 surgeries. When you have an obstruction nothing will stop the nausea or the vomiting. You must have emergent help. What I did learn to do, however, was to position myself so that the pain was dramatically diminished. I have always wanted to share this --to possibly spare others s ome of the terrible pain. Here goes: As soon as it starts get yourself to the E Room. Then 2 things: First try to drink maybe even 1/4 cup of buttermilk. This will neutralize the acid and reduce burning. Second, If you are waiting for an ambulance and can walk get outside and lay on the ground. If inside get on a bed or couch with a garbage bag. You want to position yourself so that you are lying on your side (or better yet, your stomach) so that when you vomit it will flow down. (don't let your head point down as you could choke). You want your head annd body to be horizontal on a downward slope or just across the bed so that basically the vomit follows the path of least resistance. This will totally eliminate the pain and gagging typically associated with vomiting. Usually when we vomit we are standing and the vomit has to fight gravity and all those esophagus contractions. This might all se em wierd and petty to anyone who hasn't had to deal with this kind of situation If you have, however, you know you will do anything to relieve the pain, and it can make the unbearable bearable. Since my last surgery 3 yrs ago I have been nausea and vomit free!

INGREDIENTS: Ginger ale and pedilyte
INSTRUCTIONS: Get unflavored pedilyte and ginger ale. Fill an 8 ounce glass half way with the pedilyte and the rest of the way with ginger ale. Sip slowly. I find using a tablespoon to drink it helps. Drink over about an hour. The pedilyte rehydrates you, gives you potassium which help with nausea and the giner ale settles your stomach.

Ingredients: Ginger Tea
Instructions: Just eating a piece of small piece of ginger (pickled or fresh) will do the trick (it's a bit pungent, but it works instantly). I'm a chef, and my former sous chef gave me a piece to chew on one shift where I was feeling particularly ill (i felt fine immediatley and finished the dinner shift). To make it more palatable, I usually make a ginger tea: Boil about 2 cups of water with a whole knob of ginger (corsely chopped). Add 2 tablespoons of honey, a cinnamon stick, and chopped up fruit (chopped up pears or crushed blueberries work very well). Reduce liquid by half. Strain out fruit, and either drink the liquid straight, or steep a chamomile tea bag in it. You may add more honey to taste.

Instructions: Go to the health food store and buy charcoal pills. Take one-three right after vomiting to let it have just enough time to work in between vomting. Also suck on a piece of raw garlic. I had alcohol poisoning on super bowl sunday last year and threw up bile for six hours every twenty min. My neighbor gave me a raw piece of garlic, and charcoal pills and vomiting stopped immediatly!!!

Ingredients: One cube of Beef Boullion, a small pot, and water.
Instructions: All you need is a small pot, about maybe a cup and a half in size, a cube of beef boullion, and water. Fill the pot about half way with water and et it boil. Unwrap the boullion cube and drop it in. Wait until the cube is completely dissolved. I learned about this when I had my bottom wisdom teeth pulled. Vomiting would be ofcourse a very bad thing
for the stitches, so a friend told me about this (she had just gotten all of her wisdom teeth removed just the month before)
who heard it from her mother in law. Surprisingly enough, it works. Don't add anything to it, just the boullion and water

Instructions: When I was a little girl my grandmother, bless her heart, frustrated with my constant vomtting during the flu instructed me to sit quietly on her sofa and to sip, very very slowly the can of coca-cola she gave to me. Being very quiet with my lips pursed I did as I was told and then I was to nibble the saltines she gave me. Quite fast my nausea was gone. I've since then done this and it works everytime! Let me know if it works for you. Remember drink as slowly as possible!

Instructions: Pour some dill pickle juice in a cup and sip it slowly. It will help get rid of the nausea feeling. Take one sip and then drink the rest of the juice. You only need to drink a half/cup full. It works wonders.

Instructions: Eat a few saltines. I've found that this works wonders. The cracker absorbs excess material in your stomach ( acids and such ) that cause vomiting. If you ever had chemistry you would know that the
salt (sodium chloride) is an electrolyte....which will restore the bodies ability to conduct electricity, which will also help alot.

Instructions: When you are feeling a little nauseous use my great grandmother's remedy.Take two tablespoons of corn syrup and that sick feeling will disappear!I've tried it with white and dark and even used pancake syrup.
It even works for morning sickness

Black toast (*very* black - like charcoal). Nibble itin tiny amounts when you're nauseated, and it will
absorb stomach acids and help you to feel lessnauseated. Activated charcoal tablets from a healthfood store will serve the same purpose.After a bout of vomiting or diarrhoea, two things.

You need to restore your electrolyte balance (levels ofsugar and sodium in the blood), and you need toreplace lost protein.Drink sports drink, like Gatorade or Powerade orsimilar (Pedialyte, Maxim Electrolyte), to restoreyour electrolyte balance. If the flavor is too strongto stomach, cut it with water, and you can even freezeit and make popsicles out of it to suck on when you'renauseated. It will keep your strength up (you knowthat "weak" feeling you have after vomiting? This will help.).You could probably make your own with water, cornsyrup and salt, but getting the combination rightmight be difficult.

The other thing to have after vomiting is egg-dropsoup. It helps to restore your electrolyte balance aswell, but it also provides you with an easily absorbedprotein (egg) in a bland dish. This will help you tofeel stronger faster.
Egg Drop Soup:
1 egg, 1 can or 1 1/2 cups chicken broth, soy sauce.
Beat one egg well while bringing chicken broth to a
rolling boil. When the broth comes to a rolling boil,
turn the fire off, swirl the broth and immediately
drop the beaten egg in. Do not stir after dropping the
egg in. Wait one minute, the egg will be cooked. You
may stir in a bit of soy sauce to taste.
This is especially good when you're beginning to feelbetter and a bit hungry, but not sure what/how muchyou can keep down.

Get pan of water and little chamomile, little oild olive and lemon
for ten minutes, drink one-two teaspoon every five minutes.


Put flour on a hot pan and scorch it.Sounds gross, but it really works.



Try warm gingerale for nausea. It is very soothing on the stomach and works nicely for morning sickness.

Ingredients = Camomile & Mint Tea

Camomile & Mint tea has been one of the best things for when I am natious, mint settles the stomach, and camomile calms the i usually make myself a cup if camomile & mint tea, which you can pick up at a local health food/drug/grocery store, such as Safeway.
