Ingredients = 1 Candle
Instructions = Whenever you are slicing up an onion, simply burn a candle very close by (around 5/6 inches from the onion) The flame will burn up the fumes from the onion before they reach your eyes. If by chance you start to tear up, try moving the candle closer to you until its better.

Ingredients: no ingredients needed here.
Instructions: This really works. When slicing an onion, don't slice the root end. If the root end is not sliced, it will not cause tears.
OR place onion in Freezer for about an hour before slicing, this will not cause tears either.

Ingredients: Contact lenses or water
Instructions: I've found two ways of stopping Onion Tears: number one: wear contact lenses, it puts a barrier over your eyes. Number two: chop the onion in half (just one slice shouldn't be enough to set the tears off unless you're very senstive) and put the two halves in cold water for about 30 minutes. Seriously, it works. Luckily for me, I wear lenses :)

To prevent Onion Tears, hold your wrist under running cold water while cutting or peeling an onion and no more tears! If you have to move your wrist for a moment that's fine; return it to the running cold water when can and still no tears. Pretty Cool!
